How To Naturally Boost Your Immune System

As the cold and flu season is upon us, we decided to take some extra measures to keep our immune system in the best shape possible. Here are some of our favorite ways to keep ourselves feeling our best during the cold weather months. Vitamin C Vitamin C, known as the immune-boosting vitamin can help your body stay healthy this cold and flu season. Be sure to incorporate at least 65mg of the vitamin into your diet daily. This helps your body stay healthy and be better equipped to fight off nasty germs. Some delicious ways to get your vitamin c are oranges, red peppers, and broccoli.



Echinacea

Echinacea is a supplement known to reduce the severity and length of a cold. It's a great addition to your normal supplement routine, especially in the winter months. However, be sure to take it every day, even on the days when you feel perfectly healthy. Echinacea works best when you take it regularly not just when you feel a cold coming along. Think of it as an extra defense supplement.

Sleep Sleep is one of the most important ways to keep your immune system in top shape. Getting a full 8 hours of rest can help your body stay in the best condition. And if you happen to fall under the weather, sleep is extra crucial. Getting a proper night's rest (and maybe a little extra too) will help your body heal and repair faster.


Avoid It Try to avoid certain situations that may put you in harm's way in regards to the common cold. For example, be sure to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Carry hand sanitizer on your when you are in a situation that you cant wash up, and be sure to disinfect commonly touched surfaces to get rid of lingering germs.
